Overview

This onsite role in Manassas, VA supports the production and quality assurance of biological materials within a biological manufacturing environment.

 

The Associate Biologist performs laboratory operations that contribute to the production of sellable cell biology products while following established procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements. We are seeking an Associate Biologist, ideally with a background in aseptic technique and cell biology with a desire to gain experience in laboratory operations, work in BSC, and biological manufacturing. Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing Operations: Execute production activities and quality control testing by following SOPs and controlled documents.
  • Aseptic Technique & Cell Culture: Perform laboratory procedures using aseptic techniques and work with cell lines and other biological materials.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Accurately record batch and laboratory data while maintaining compliance with GLP and quality requirements.
  • Laboratory Support: Maintain laboratory readiness, support equipment use, and follow established safety procedures.
  • Problem Solving & Improvement: Assist with troubleshooting routine laboratory challenges and support process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to support production schedules, quality objectives, and operational requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Requirement: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (HS Diploma and 4 years).
  • Experience with aseptic technique and cell culture.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to maintain accurate records and documentation, and commitment to quality standards.
  • Effective communication, organization, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies, procedures, and laboratory techniques.
  • Preferred:  Familiarity with biological manufacturing processes, knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), controlled documentation, and regulated work environments.

Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is $60,000 to $65,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional incentive compensation including regular merit increases and the corporate bonus program.
