Overview

ATCC, a leading nonprofit biological resources and standards organization, is seeking an onsite Calibration Specialist  with experience in a scientific industry, engineering or laboratory field. Experience in metrology, use of analytical equipment, equipment troubleshooting is required. Calibration Management System experience (ProCal, DMLSS) preferred. Prior military or facilities experience highly preferred.

 

This role is based at ATCC Gaithersburg, MD location and will also support ATCC facilities in Manassas, VA and Germantown, MD.  Candidate must be available to support all 3 locations.

Responsibilities

  • Instrumentation Calibration & Maintenance: Perform hands-on calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of laboratory equipment. Ensure all instrumentation is calibrated and/or certified on schedule to comply with metrological guidelines.
  • Standard Operating Procedures & Compliance: Write and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for various systems and calibration protocols. 
  • Inventory & Vendor Management: Maintain records and inventory of equipment. 

Qualifications

  • High School diploma and 5 or more years' experience or equivalent experience.
  • Hands on experience in calibration, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation required.
  • Experience in metrology, use of analytical equipment, equipment troubleshooting is required.
  • Calibration Management System experience (ProCal, DMLSS) preferred.
  • Prior military or facilities experience highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of metrological guidelines and current manufacturing practices.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to write clear and concise SOPs.

Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is $95,000 to $105,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional incentive compensation including regular merit increases and the corporate bonus program.
