Overview

Ready to shape the future of science and global health? ATCC, a leading nonprofit biological resources and standards organization, is seeking a Biologist with Biology or related degree (virology, microbiology, or molecular biology) with aseptic technique and cell culture experience preferred, ideally working in a regulated environment.  This role is based onsite in Manassas, VA.   

We're looking for a Biologist to manufacture biological materials and standards. You'll work under minimal guidance to support the production of biological cultures and derivative products, as well as contribute to data collection and recording.

Responsibilities

  • Operations: Quality control (QC) testing of biological products by following standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and other controlled documents. Maintain laboratory safety, operations, equipment, and supplies.  
  • Documentation: Maintain production batch records in compliance with good laboratory practices. Contribute to revisions of SOPs and work instructions. Collect, analyze, and report data, ensuring meticulous documentation. 
  • Continuous Learning and Problem-Solving: Increase knowledge of various cell lines and organisms, and handle challenges in alignment with organizational policies. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific field with 2-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent 
  • Hands on laboratory experience and aseptic technique required 
  • Cell culture experience is preferred.  
  • Attention to detail 
  • Ability to adhere to corporate policies and procedures 
  • Experience in a cell biology/ virology environment is preferred

Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional incentive compensation including regular merit increases and the corporate bonus program.
