Overview

ATCC, a pioneer in biomaterials manufacturing, is seeking a Product Specialist with background and experience in Cell Biology for a primarily remote role, requiring proximity to Gaithersburg, MD for important meetings as needed. Experience in Cell culture or Toxicology is required, and Project Management is preferred.

 

The Product Specialist supports product lifecycle management for the toxicology segment. Working alongside the Product Manager they will coordinate activities required to bring a product to market and implement strategies to ensure market adoption 

 

This role in product management is ideal for someone with a scientific background looking to transition into a business or marketing focus as entry into product management and requires an understanding of cell biology and the life sciences market. This role focuses on our portfolio including primary cells, specialty media, iPSC's, and immortalized cell lines. Customer facing experience could make you a great candidate for this job!

Responsibilities

  • Product Lifecycle Management: Collaborate with internal stake holders on operational tasks within the product lifecycle to help achieve organizational goals. This involves planning, scheduling, and resolving operational issues related to maintaining inventory levels. 
  • Drive Customer Engagement: Identify and address consumer needs through direct customer interactions. Provide valuable marketing insights and execute go-to-market schedules, demand generation campaigns, and field sales support for new product launches. Support sales and marketing teams to identify new accounts, address customer inquiries and resolve complaints, contributing to the development of a positive customer relationship. 
  • Conduct Market Intelligence: Gather and understand customer needs and industry trends. Collaborate with the Product Manager to translate these insights into short and long-term product road maps, ensuring strategic alignment with market demands  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Life Sciences or related areas and 2-5 years of experience or equivalent; or a Masters or PhD and 0-2 years of experience.
  • Scientific experience or product marketing, R&D or technical support experience required.
  • Experience in Cell culture or Toxicology is required, and Project Management is preferred.
  • Experience in primary cells, specialty media, iPSC's, and immortalized cell lines preferred.
  • Scientific experience or product marketing, R&D or technical support experience required.
  • Strong communication skills across various audiences, coupled with excellent organizational abilities. Comfortable collaborating in cross-functional settings. 

Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 to $85,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional incentive compensation including regular merit increases and the corporate bonus program.
