Overview

ATCC, a pioneer in biomaterials manufacturing, is seeking a Senior Project Coordinator, ideally with scientific background or education related to Biology, Virology, Cell Culture, Genetics, or Bioinformatics, for an onsite role in Manassas, VA.  The Senior Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating meetings between team members and internal/external clients to ensure effective communication, as well as managing and updating project documentation such as work plans, schedules, and status reports. They are also responsible for preparing reports, attending meetings, and recording minutes. 

  

You will play a pivotal role in overseeing the planning, execution, and monitoring of small to medium-sized projects. Utilize your organizational and communication skills to ensure project success.  This opportunity is a great fit for someone with background in science looking for an adminstrative opportunity.  

 

The Senior Project Coordinator will work under ATCC's International Reagent Resources Program and will be responsible for tasks under the In Vitro Assessment for Microbial Activity Program and others, as assigned. They are responsible for developing project plans, scheduling, tracking tasks, and ensuring that milestones are completed on time.  
 

Responsibilities

  • Project Oversight: Oversee small to medium-sized projects, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and procedures while effectively managing schedules and deadlines. 
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare comprehensive project plans, document progress, and reports for internal and external stakeholders and Senior Management, facilitating informed decision-making and project transparency. 
  • Interdepartmental Coordination and Technical Support: Collaborate between internal and external departments or service providers, ensuring project requirements are met and any delays or concerns are addressed promptly. Provide technical support, including project scheduling and data entry to optimize project performance. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in biology or a related field and 2-5 years' experience. Knowledge of virology, cell biology, genetics and bioinformatics is preferred. 
  • Experience in project management or project coordination roles, preferably overseeing small to medium-sized projects. 
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously with the ability to adapt in a dynamic project environment. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project. 
  • Attention to detail and ability to analyze project requirements, identify dependencies, and mitigate risks. 
  • Experience in generating project plans, progress reports, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Ability to exercise judgment and problem-solving skills to address project-related issues and deviations from plans. 
  • Strong report writing and documentation management skills.
