    Founded in 1925, ATCC is a non-profit organization with a mission to acquire, authenticate, preserve, develop, standardize, and distribute biological materials and information for the advancement and application of scientific knowledge. 


    The Content Specialist will act as the main point of contact for website administration tasks, content authoring, formatting, user administration, and content best practices. The Content Specialist will work with internal and external partners to create, manage and execute content on the ATCC website in alignment with the overall digital, brand and corporate strategy. Position will also be responsible for supporting analytics and reporting insights on content, SEO and other digital activities performance.

     

    This position applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues and exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action while maintaining confidentiality. Must work and think independently; duties of this position are to be completed under minimal guidance. Functions are to be completed in a timely manner with acceptable quality.

     

    Responsibilities

    1. Drive and manage content plan. Audit and analyze current digital content, identify gaps and create content plan to support content strategy and buyer’s journey.
    2. Provide content governance in Sitecore, following approval processes, SEO optimization best practices, tags and other agreed-upon steps along the content creation and publishing process.
    3. Collaborate with technical writers, designers, and brand/marketing managers to initiate, write, edit and approve content as needed, insuring proper expression of the ATCC brand message.
    4. Serve as the Sitecore content administrator providing content governance ensuring all content meets the ATCC quality standard and that SEO best practices are followed.
    5. Create and update reports on content performance, to support content creation plan and showing ROI.
    6. Assist in the execution of projects associated with digital marketing strategies and lead generation objectives including QA testing and follow-up to resolve issues with web development teams.
    7. Other ancillary duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or Computer Sciences.
    • Three (3)+ years of experience managing content for large scale websites via a Content Management System (CMS).
    • HTML and CSS knowledge required.
    • Experience with email marketing tools and website analytics.
    • Understanding of B2B commerce fundamentals (supplier, sales, customer and brand).

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Ability to work with limited supervision in the areas of website content management and organization.
    • Solid working knowledge of SEO, Email Marketing, and Paid Search best practices and social content platforms.
    • Passionate about current and emerging internet marketing technologies.
    • Self-starter, motivated and takes initiative; strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills; able to work collaboratively with all levels of staff to resolve problems to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results.
    • Seek, learn, and apply new skills/knowledge to perform job responsibilities.
    • Attentive to detail with a high level of accuracy; exercise sound.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including excellent listening skills to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively.
    • Position-relevant computer experience including Microsoft Office.
    • Follow all company safety practices, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and policies. 

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in life science industry a plus.
    • Working knowledge of SiteCore content management system preferred.
    • Working knowledge of Insite Commerce system preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of Google Analytics preferred
    • JavaScript knowledge preferred.
