Founded in 1925, ATCC is a non-profit organization with a mission to acquire, authenticate, preserve, develop, standardize, and distribute biological materials and information for the advancement and application of scientific knowledge.
The Senior Scientist will be responsible for the management of HIV/AIDS program at ATCC. The incumbent will interact with key cross-functional individuals to execute projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in HIV and will be expected to implement emerging scientific technologies to continually improve program objectives, execute ideas and concepts for creating new products and research tools. The incumbent must have proven track record of publications in peer reviewed journals in the field of HIV/AIDS. The ideal candidate will have a broad expertise in classical and molecular virology. The Senior Scientist will also be expected to contribute within their own group as well as cross-functionally towards the overall goals and objectives of ATCC. The incumbent is expected to supervise and mentor staff, leading by example, and enforce all ATCC corporate policies and procedures. The incumbent may perform research and write grant, contract and patent applications with program approval.
