Founded in 1925, ATCC is a non-profit organization with a mission to acquire, authenticate, preserve, develop, standardize, and distribute biological materials and information for the advancement and application of scientific knowledge.
The Associate Repository Technician will perform assigned activities within the repository service operations areas. The incumbent will utilize the biorepository / biobanking industry best practices to perform work according to SOPs and ATCC corporate and departmental policies and procedures.
This position is responsible for the receipt, inventory, storage, withdraw, and shipping of biological specimens, samples, and materials. Commercial and government client materials are stored at temperatures ranging from ambient to -196°C, and have potentially hazardous properties. This position uses database applications and standard precautionary procedures to work independently, communicate effectively, and make sound decisions. Work is performed following standard operating procedures and is routinely reviewed by the supervisor for accuracy and adherence to standards.
All ATCC employees are expected to follow all company policies governing operations, use personal protective equipment, adheres to safety protocols, and perfume all duties according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Facility Safety Guidelines, and Food & Drug Administration (FDA) requirements to includes compliance of cGMP CFR 21 parts 210 and 211 where applicable.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1-year work experience with data entry, shipping or receiving, sample management. Experience working with a company wide enterprise based system (ERP/MRP) is highly desirable.
