    Founded in 1925, ATCC is a non-profit organization with a mission to acquire, authenticate, preserve, develop, standardize, and distribute biological materials and information for the advancement and application of scientific knowledge. 

    The E-Procurement Specialist is responsible for providing e-commerce and e-procurement support towards maintaining and expanding the ATCC B2B e-commerce capabilities. This position works closely with our customers, their internal procurement systems (Ariba, Jaggaer; SciQuest, etc.), and internal ATCC stakeholders to enable e-procurement relationships. The position requires self-motivation and a strong background in e-commerce and e-procurement.  A mix of technical and business acumen is required to develop processes for managing the e-procurement business.


    Discretion in handling assigned responsibilities, including the ability to resolve problems and exercise good judgment while maintaining confidentiality. Functions are to be completed in a timely manner with acceptable quality.


    1. Prepare, review, document and distribute all hosted catalogs and pricing.
    2. Provide monthly and quarterly reports with analysis of the e-procurement business.
    3. Build customer eProcurement relationships securing ATCC product listing in customer’s procurement systems.
    4. Troubleshoot and resolve eProcurement issues.
    5. Ensure reliable and a high quality of e-catalog content.
    6. Monitor and administer the procurement vendor portals (Ariba, SciQuest, etc.), responding to new request and issues.
    7. Liaison with customers, procurement vendors, IT, sales, and Customer Care regarding new and existing B2B relationships and issue resolution.
    8. Test/validate changes related to hosted catalog generation and punch-out.
    9. Ensures products published in the e-catalogs meet distribution compliance and contain accurate coding to ensure clean order processing.
    10. Work with business & technology groups to define requirements for onboarding and supporting new e-procurement customers.
    11. Perform other duties as assigned.


    Education and Experience:


    • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three (3) years’ of related experience in e-commerce and e-procurement systems (Ariba, SciQuest, etc.); or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Two (2) years of working within a sales or marketing environment.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Experience in life science or biotech environments.
    • Proficient/Advanced skills in large data management tools (Excel, Access, etc.).
    • Experience with major procurement systems (Ariba, SciQuest, Coupa, etc.).
    • Self-starter, motivated and takes initiative; strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills; able to work collaboratively with all levels of staff to resolve problems and external partners to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including excellent listening skills to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively.
    • Position-relevant computer experience including Microsoft Office.
    • Follow all company safety practices, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and policies.
    • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Dynamics CRM and AX a plus.
