    Founded in 1925, ATCC is a non-profit organization with a mission to acquire, authenticate, preserve, develop, standardize, and distribute biological materials and information for the advancement and application of scientific knowledge.   


    This position must work and think independently; duties of this position are to be completed under minimal guidance. Responsible for the effectiveness of highly complex and strategic business processes and develops sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable process improvements. Develops and executes a high level business requirements from the various Business Owners/SME’s to align the needs of the business with the enterprise digital capabilities, to include business owner approval.   

    Responsibilities

    1. Develops a project charter to include the scope, business sponsor, business subject matter experts, and anticipated quantifiable benefits.
    2. Leads focus groups to chart the current state process, provide root cause analysis, identify hotspots, and capture baseline metrics.
    3. Leads focus groups in developing a future state process to deliver the quantifiable results and identify quick win opportunities.
    4. Develops an implementation plan that includes business process optimization and/or system automation improvements.
    5. Partners with the PM during requirements gathering to ensure project plan tasks are documented.
    6. Works with IT to determine specific business application software requirements to address complex business needs.
    7. Develops project plans and identifies and coordinates resources, involving those outside the unit.
    8. Develops business requirements and partners with IT to appropriate Systems Analyst for UAT/QA Testing.
    9. Provides the link between the technical and the business views of the system by ensuring that the technical solutions being developed will satisfy the needs of the business.
    10. Consults with business partners (internal and external) concerning application and implementation of technology.
    11. Identifies impacted cross functional parties, business partners, and resources required.
    12. Works with programming staff to ensure requirements will be incorporated into system design and testing.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience:

    • Requires a BS/BA degree, 5-7 years of business analysis experience that includes knowledge of systems capabilities and business operations.
    • Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.
    • Self-starter, motivated and takes initiative; strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills; able to work collaboratively with all levels of staff to resolve problems, including external to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Ability to lead and facilitate large meeting settings with cross functional partners (partnering, conflict resolution/management, consultative attitude/approach).
    • Seek, learn, and apply new skills/knowledge to perform job responsibilities.
    • Attentive to detail with a high level of accuracy; exercise sound judgment; and project management skills.
    • Resourceful, diplomatic and professional; deliver outstanding customer service while managing relationships; a can-do attitude and work style that supports teamwork (and lead teams when necessary), collaboration and positive relationships.
    • Adaptable; be able to shift priorities and focus as departmental and/or business demands change
    • Strong analytical skills and organized; completes tasks ahead of schedule.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including excellent listening skills and presentation skills to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively.
    • Position-relevant computer experience including Microsoft Office, Visio, and procurement systems software.
    • Follow all company safety practices, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and policies.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
    • Project Management Certification.
