    The Inventory Control Technician will support the department’s ongoing inventory management activities by executing inventory transactions in the company ERP system and by performing other inventory control tasks, as assigned by management. This position will also interact with various internal business functions to provide knowledge support and promote best practices regarding the execution of inventory transactions, in compliance with established policies and procedures.

     

    The incumbent will possess the ability to perform assigned tasks and resolve minor problems with moderate supervision and exercise good judgment in knowing when escalation is necessary. Tasks are to be completed in a timely manner with acceptable quality and will comply with all ATCC corporate and departmental policies and procedures.

    Responsibilities

    1. Provides support to internal business functions regarding inventory management and associated inventory transactions in the company ERP system; answering how-to questions, researching inventory status and/or inventory discrepancies, and creating new inventory locations.
    2. Provides support to the Inventory Auditing Program; entry of cycle count results, investigation of inventory transactions, assisting in performing cycle counts and recounts.
    3. Provides support to the processing of inventory replenishment requests received from global consignment inventory warehouses; transacts inventory Transfer Orders in the company ERP system.
    4. Provides support to the departmental Visual Management System; updating of storage location diagrams and equipment tracking lists, conducting audits to verify accuracy of diagrams and lists.
    5. Works on special projects, as assigned, to effectively implement process improvements to optimize inventory accuracy and maintain the highest possible productivity levels.
    6. Maintains effective working relationships with internal business functions. 

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience:

     

    • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant warehousing/repository/customer service and inventory control experience required
    • Position-relevant computer experience including Inventory Management functions within an ERP environment, MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook is required. Intermediate (at minimum) level skills in MS Excel are essential for this position.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • A college degree, with coursework in Supply Chain / Materials Management and/or relevant industry certifications.
    • Experience gained within the Life Sciences industry, with inventory materials requiring maintenance of cold-chain.
    • Experience with Microsoft AX and MS Visio.
    • Experience with hand-held barcode scanners in the execution of inventory transactions.
    • Experience within an ISO 9000 and/or cGMP work environment.
