Founded in 1925, ATCC is a non-profit organization with a mission to acquire, authenticate, preserve, develop, standardize, and distribute biological materials and information for the advancement and application of scientific knowledge. 

The Associate Systems Analyst is responsible for the analysis of process flows and the design and development of application systems.  The incumbent actively supports and complies with all ATCC corporate policies and procedures.


  1. Analyzes process flows in ATCC business environment.   
  2. Designs and develops application systems in ATCC client-server environment.
  3. Manages application projects and/or project teams.
  4. Ensures compliance with standard software development practices.
  5. Develops training materials and train ATCC staff in use of application systems.
  6. Interacts with vendors and consultants for implementation and upgrade of systems.
  7. Contributes to technical publications and grant/contract proposals.
  8. Performs other ancillary duties as assigned.  


Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Operations Research or related field is required.
  • Applicable experience may substitute for a formal degree.  
  • An additional 0-3 years of experience with process analysis, application development, and application environments (i.e. programming languages, databases, operating systems, hardware, and telecommunications) is required.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Can analyze process flows in a business environment.
  • Can design and develop application systems in a client-server environment.
  • Can manager application projects and/or project teams.
