Overview

Founded in 1925, ATCC is a non-profit organization with a mission to acquire, authenticate, preserve, develop, standardize, and distribute biological materials and information for the advancement and application of scientific knowledge.


The Systems Analyst is responsible for the analysis of complex process flows and the design and development of complex application systems.  The incumbent actively supports and complies with all ATCC corporate policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes complex process flows in ATCC business environment.
  • Designs and develop complex application systems in ATCC client-server environment.
  • Manages complex application projects and/or project teams.
  • Ensures compliance with standard software development practices.
  • Develops training materials and train ATCC staff in use of application systems.
  • Interacts with vendors and consultants for implementation and upgrade of systems.
  • Contributes to technical publications and grant/contract proposals.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Has authority either directly or through recommendations for employment decisions to include selection, training, performance evaluations, counseling, promotions and terminations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  •  A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Operations Research or related field is required.
  • Experience in a related field may substitute for required degree.  
  • An additional 3-5 years of experience with process analysis, application development, and application environments (i.e. programming languages, databases, operating systems, hardware, and telecommunications) is required.

  •  Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Can analyze complex process flows in a business environment.
  • Can design and develop complex application systems in a client-server environment.
  • Can manage complex application projects and/or project teams.
